Several of you asked about the resource that was used in the reading segment. The chapter came from the book Content Area Writing: Every Teacher's Guide by Harvey Daniels, Steven Zemelman, and Nancy Steineke (2007, Heinemann Publishing). It can be checked out from Heartland's professional library--call #808.042 Dan. I will be referencing additional material from the book, as well as other resources, as we continue to meet for professional development this year.
